Seriously, the dude is a patriot. Of all the candidates in the 2008 presidential hiatus, Ron Paul is the only one that i think is honestly looking out for the common man (or woman). Though he is a Republican (I never thought I would publicly support a Republican, but it has happened!), the majority of the stuff I have read or heard about Ron Paul has been very intriguing. I’ve seen him talking shit about the Federal Reserve, which was awesome. I’ve heard about how he initially got into politics when Richard Nixon trashed the gold standard… to quote the Ron Paul wikipedia: he said, “After that day, all money would be political money rather than money of real value. I was astounded.” He’s also an obstetrician and a gynecologist… not to mention a 10-term Congressman. Ron Paul is the man!

I appreciate all of your commentary. Its good to hear other peoples opinions about stuff like this… Sometimes I feel like its hard to find a good honest opinion, in a world full of news giant spin conglomorates and the like… anyway, i just wanted to note that your opinions are appreciated.
This is a really tough question to answer. The problem with our two-party system is that it is really just one party. In general, both parties have the same interests in mind aside from a few key issues. But that’s what the government wants…instead of getting angry at our system, we just get mad at the other guys and I hate to say it, but it really blinds people. Both Republicans and Democrats look down so much on the other, they are missing what matters: the issues. And that’s what it all boils down to. I don’t care about labels and neither should anyone else! Ron Paul is a Republican, yes, but he speaks truths that haven’t been spoken by a politician since Reagan. So will Democrats vote for him? It’s all up to us to spread the word and see where it goes from there. Good luck!

Democrats SHOULD at least watch Ron Paul’s videos, read his website, and learn what he has to say. Here is the problem with elections: too many people are “diehard this or that”. What I’m saying is this… if someone is a diehard Republican (for example) they are likely to vote for Rudy, simply because of 9/11 - to be honest. If someone is a diehard Democrat, likely to go to Hilary. Why not listen to what both sides are saying and vote for whoever would do a better job? I think when it comes to the present and future of our country (and the world through foreign policy), we shouldn’t be so closed-minded and stubborn.
Now, if people were to actually give Ron Paul a chance, then, yes, he would most certainly win. He wants what is best for America, not his pocket. He wants what is best for our freedoms, not his own political gain. He wants what is best for our pockets (and I’m talking as a blue collar laborer here), not just the political elite’s pockets.
The solution: get your diehard friends of both sides to hear Ron Paul’s message. They will see the truth and honesty behind it and be swayed. Remember, loyalty is good for your favorite ball team, but when it comes to political parties… it is fatal.
I supported Democrats before Kerry got shot down by Bush… I couldn’t understand how Kerry could lose to the loser.. Until I saw Aaron Russo’s “America: From Freedom to Facism”.. that movie totally opend my eyes and my mind, and I saw how messed up and totally corrupt the political system is. That’s where I learned about Ron Paul - the only politician with integrity and honesty as his best policy. I wished that he would run for president…

I think a lot of the reasons the establishment is afraid of Ron Paul is because his voting record and history actually back up what he says. He doesn’t just go along with how the public is feeling. Everything he stands for he has voted for…for a decade. He voted agaisnt the war in Iraq & the Patriot Act from day 1! Thats something a majority of the candidates from BOTH parties cannot say with any honesty. Hes the only candidate who has shown concern for us..the people, concern for losses of liberties, losses of what it is to be a free person in america.

Ron Paul will be President of the United States of America. I have no doubt anymore.
When he takes his oath the entire world will breath a collective sigh of relief… and the will love us for it.

I think a lot of the reasons the establishment is afraid of Ron Paul is because his voting record and history actually back up what he says. He doesn’t just go along with how the public is feeling. Everything he stands for he has voted for…for a decade. He voted agaisnt the war in Iraq & the Patriot Act from day 1! Thats something a majority of the candidates from BOTH parties cannot say with any honesty. Hes the only candidate who has shown concern for us..the people, concern for losses of liberties, losses of what it is to be a free person in america.

His anti-war, ANTI-DRAFT views should be very attractive to the young generation that is already going to have to clean up the mess in Iraq, via financially and with their lives. I’ve always been a split-ticket voter, though my ballots have usually been weighted toward Dems; BUT RON PAUL TRUMPS ALL other ‘08 runners and will have my vote!
In fact, we’re not alone (Dems voting for Ron Paul). Ron Paul’s Texas campaign headquarters (in Austin) had to print “Democrats for Ron Paul” bumper stickers because their office was receiving so many requests for them!
How about “dem” apples?!
